    Spinal Release - Yoga for Jaw & Low Back (40 min.)

    This is a great therapeutic yoga class for anyone suffering from migraines, TMJ, neck or shoulder aches, or low back pain. In addition to relaxing techniques, we will focus on strengthening our glutes and core.

    Props Needed: None

    Optional Props: 1 chair

    The first 20 minutes of this class has you sitting in a chair (or on the floor if you prefer) releasing tension in the jaw and the neck. For the last 20 minutes of this class, you will be on the floor stretching the muscles in your low back. You can choose to do all or part of this class, depending on what is appropriate for you today.

    There is a relationship between the top of the cervical spine and the bottom of the lumbar spine. Sometimes, we hold tension in the jaw which radiants down to our low back and sometimes it's the other way around. Oftentimes, we aren't aware of where our pain originates so in this class, we target both the top and the bottom of the spine to bring relief to both areas.
